Bulk Beef Deposit

This is our third bulk purchase(at least).
Every time the beef has been superior. We shared some with a friend that had worked as a butcher and he raved over the quality. The roasts turn out every time no matter the cut. And the steaks OMG.

This was my 4th order from the Herd. Every piece of beef was amazing! I will continue to purchase from them because of the quality of beef and their customer service!

This is by far one of the best half-beef purchases we have ever made. The price per pound almost scared me off, but I’m so glad Payten took the time to explain the process and helped me understand that I wasn’t paying for hanging or live weight—I was paying for the weight of the meat added to my freezer. When you do the math, it shows the price per pound, cut and wrapped, is equivalent to most other bulk sales.

I was also surprised by the amount of beef we fit into our freezer. Payten thoroughly explained the different beef cuts and how to place the order. I’ve ordered bulk beef for many years, and I’ve never had this much variety in my freezer, with new cuts to try.

The only downside was that the cuber at the meat plant was broken, so we didn’t get any cubed beef. We love chicken-fried steak, so this will be missed. However, I will say the round steak is the most tender I’ve ever had. If I simply cut the steak in half, pound it a couple of times to thin it out, then coat and fry it, it is pretty good!

Overall, this was a great experience. Payten was fantastic and easy to contact; she was very responsive to all my text messages. She went above and beyond to ensure I got my money’s worth. I highly recommend Payten and Herd 5 Beef.
